This is one of my absolute favorite scenes of SV!Lois and Clark.

So, something you might not know about me: Smallville is what originally got me into comics. (I know, I know, I’m outing myself as something of a comics newb here, though I do like to think I’ve learned a thing or two since I entered the fandom). Smallville gets a lot of flack from comics purists for how much it changed, and a lot of that is deserved, but at the end of the day, you can’t deny the effect it had: It made fans like me want to go back to the source material and learn more about the characters of Clark Kent and Lois Lane. And no matter how much Smallville changed (and I’m not denying that it was a lot), I think they really did stay true to the core of who these characters are and what their relationship is like (especially in the last two seasons).

I’ll probably always have a soft spot for this show because, even though I had seen the Chris Reeve movies beforehand, Smallville was what really made me fall in love with Lois and Clark. Which in turn led to me really getting into the superhero genre.

And, I mean, LOOK at this scene. The way that they look at each other is just heart-stoppingly romantic. <3 I think this is where you really see Clark realize, once and for all, that Lois is the person he can trust above all others, which leads to the realization that she really is the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with. It’s like his whole world just falls into place, right in front of his eyes.
